Governance and Administration of Schools

I. BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The general management of the OND School shall be vested upon a Board of Trustees. It is the highest policy making body of the school.

II. OND SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT

The OND School Superintendent assists the Administration in the smooth management of the school.

III. SCHOOL PERSONNEL

School Personnel refers to all persons working for the educational institution. This includes the following:

1.      Administrative Staff – refers to administrators involved in the formulation and implementation of the school policies.

A.      Directress of the School – The Directress is the chief executive officer of the institution. She is vested with authority in administrative and financial matters. She is responsible for the general well-being and unity of the entire institution and is accountable to the Board of Trustees in the management of the institution.

B.      School Principal – The Principal is the academic administrator of the school. He/She exercises general supervision over the general operations of the school and is responsible for all its activities. He/She administers and supervises the academic programs.

C.      Academic Coordinator – The Academic Coordinator assists the Principal in the management of the school. Assumes the responsibilities of the Principal in the latter’s absence.

D.     School Treasurer – The Treasurer is the financial administrator of the school and is responsible for carrying out the financial and business policy of the school.

E.       Prefect of Students – The Prefect of Students is the chief officer charged with matters affecting student’s discipline and is responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of the school.

F.       Campus Ministry Coordinator – The Campus Ministry Coordinator is the Pastoral Administrator of the school. He/She is tasked with the responsibility to enflesh the Vision-Mission of the school.

G.     Administrative Council – Acts as counsel to the Directress in interpreting administrative, academic and financial policies.

2.      Teaching or Academic Staff – refers to all school personnel who are formally engaged in actual teaching service and/or in research assignments, either in full-time or in part time basis.

3.      Academic Non-Teaching Personnel – refers to any employee possessing certain prescribed academic qualifications and performing academic functions directly supportive of teaching, such as guidance counselor, psychometrician, researcher, research assistant or aide, librarian, registrar, laboratory technician, instructional media center coordinator, physician, dentist, and nurse.

4.      Non-Academic Personnel – refers to school employees who work as clerk, typist, cashier, and secretary.

5.      Support Personnel – refers to the canteen personnel, security guards, janitors and janitresses, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and drivers.
