OND Schools Vision-Mission Statement

The OND School Apostolate is one of the ministries embarked upon by the Oblates of Notre Dame in order to share in Christ’s mission of evangelization.

The OND School is a progressive academic community of responsible, productive, and effective men and women committed to the ideals and principles of Christian education.

It is called to be:

-         A  COMMUNITY OF FAITH committed to the person of Jesus Christ, the model teacher. It professes adherence to the teachings of Christ and of the Church and to the living our of the gospel values.

-         A COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS bound together in the friendship of Jesus Christ, committed to the formation of the total person. It is a community that is pastorally oriented and that upholds Christian and Filipino values; a community that is committed to the task of transforming the society, impelled by the desire to help build a community of justice, truth, love and peace.

-         A COMMUNITY OF DISCIPLES committed to the radical following of Christ the Poor. It is a community that is always open to the freshness of the Spirit as it searches for new ways and means of responding to the changing times and situations. Ever conscious of its call to be in solidarity with the

-         Poor, the Deprived, the Oppressed, the Marginalized and the Exploited (PDOME). It is line with the poor in their struggle for liberation and development.

-         A MARY-LIKE COMMUNITY gifted with Notre Dame as its mother, patroness, model and inspiration.

In pursuing this Vision-Mission, the OND schools are guided by the following specific commitments:

1.      The teaching of the fundamentals of our Christian faith,

2.      The intensification of the integral and contextualized prayer and sacramental life of the academic community.

3.      The building of a community marked by oneness, openness, mutual trust, and respect for the dignity of the person, facilitative of individual and communal growth.

4.      The establishment of Basic Ecclesial Community/Basic Dialogue Community in our school, specifically manifested through a Campus Ministry Program that is alive,

5.      The periodic examination of the school curriculum and the methodology are used to ensure relevance and effectivity. This we do because we believe that content and methodology are vital in the total formation of the person and in the transformation of society, and

6.      The deepening of the awareness that our schools are dedicated to Notre Dame our Mother. We also foster the community’s love for Mary by knowing her more and by the proper understanding of her salvific role in today’s context.
